The Serpent King’s Daughter
16 May @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm£8
The Serpent King’s Daughter – an oral storytelling performance by The Guest House Storytellers
This collection of colourful teaching tales from ancient India – seductive, funny, tragic, philosophical, horrific – is contained within a framing story about King Suryakanta, a misogynist who falls in love with the dangerous and clever Princess Anangaraga, daughter of the Serpent King. Each story ends with a riddle that she has to solve. If she fails to solve even one, she has to marry him. If she solves them all, he becomes her slave for life.
